+1, assuming that sssd is a suitable replacement. Are there any
important use cases that sssd cannot cover? Is sssd use in Ubuntu well
enough documented now? I note it's in main already (that was your doing
IIRC - thanks!).

I vote to deprecate and remove these if nobody is looking after them.
