Of course, Gabriel, the brackets denote the order of operation
1 x 10⁻⁷ / 1 x 10⁻⁸ = 10⁻¹⁵
         1 x 10⁻⁷ = 10⁻⁷
                 / 1  = 10⁻⁷
             x 10⁻⁸= 10⁻¹⁵
           = (((1 x 10⁻⁷) / 1) x 10⁻⁸)
BUT
(1 x 10⁻⁷) / (1 x 10⁻⁸) = 10
