I filed a bug in launchpad, see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cairo/+bug/1391857 <https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cairo/+bug/1391857>. As the fix is relatively simple, it should be fairly easy to back port the fix to libcairo 1.13, indeed.
