In stable releases, we usually backport fixes rather than update to new
upstream releases in order to reduce regression risk to existing users.
See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates for details.
For this bug, start by looking at
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cairo to see if this bug
already exists in Launchpad. If it doesn't, then please file one to
track this issue in Ubuntu.
See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates#Procedure for the rest
of the process.
