How indexing is achieved for lenses/nautilus?

Hello,

I was asking myself how file indexing is currently achieved in 13.04 and
will it changes in unity next? I know that some times ago it was the work
of trackerd but I don't see it anymore in my processes list. I then though
it was provided by zeitgeist but as I read its
description<http://askubuntu.com/tags/zeitgeist/info>,
it's not designed for file indexing. So I'm a little lost.
