I'm confused now by your usega of omission in first and second
sentence. If it is in Universe then everything is fine, unable
universe repository and use it.

Generally speaking Ubuntu does not have per package maintainers. Best
way would be to file a bug in launchpad against revelant package and
then developers who are interested will be notified.
