GRUB now supports specifying the root by UUID. Please help test.

I have Version: 0.97-29ubuntu42
but my stanzas still use root (hd0,0), even after a forced sudo update-grub.

Is this the expected behaviour for already installed grubs, or does it only work for newer installs?
