That might confuse an user who is trying to install (Ed/K/xpto)ubuntu to disk, wouldnt it?
Also, with all the bugs with framebuffer, many users wont even be able to see anything until they reach the Desktop.

Colin mention a few nice ideas.  I'm torn between the watermark and notification balloon.
