Could someone repackage git-core with curl dependency ?

There is a launchpad bug that has been sitting around for a VERY long
time (coming up to 2 years). It recently got some attention (which is
good), but now someone needs to actually change the package.

Basically when using git tools, such as git-clone depend on curl.
Though this is not a dependency in the git-core package. But there
appears to be a way to build without the curl dependency if need be.
But the easier way (and probably better and easier) is to just add
curl as a dependency for the git package.
