It's a big problem for quite a few people now that a lot of other
stuff has been taken care of.

Yes I'm aware that the opensync project is alpha, so are most of the
plugins; but we should be able to offer the framework; so when
opensync is ready and stable (without help) it'll be a great tool.

That would operate though HAL, since hal can give great notifications
on hardware, plugged in, unplugged, what it is, it's status and it
allows you to hand custom api's off it for any further information
which is phone specific. things are plugged in or devices are pair'ed
using bluetooth, or they're detected on the wifi network (how ever
it's done) the daemon in this case would be the sceduler which is just
a fancy way of saying 'when to run the sync' don't forget that you can
have many sync profiles for a single end point (device or pim)
