successor to ubuntu-calendar and gnome-art

Hi all,
     Does anybody of a successor to ubuntu-calendar & gnome-art. Both
these apps. are kinda having end of the road existence. Does anybody
know of any projects in the GNOME domain who could take the place of
the two apps. told above.
