right, we wanted to lock in any case after suspend or hibernate but
didnt want to force screen locking on all screensaver users (which would
have to be the case if you switch to enabled screensaver locking in
g-p-m). it is the only way to have it that fine grained (locking in any
case after any suspend/hibernate action but not locking if the
screensaver kicks in due to idling and leaving en/disabling that option
up to the user (it has an ui element in opposition to the other lock
options))
to keep the security level we have atm we would have to forcefully
enable locking on all screensaver actions in your screnario. i
personally find that pretty rude in the face of the user from a
usability POV but if the security and desktop teams want to go with
constant locking everywhere i'm fine to switch g-p-m/g-s-s over to
whatever is decided :)
