A few megabytes is important to any dial up user. Little traffic is
important to those who pay too much for bandwidth. development time, on
the other hand, cannot be wasted: it is voluntary. If someone who knows
how to code prefers to volunteer and write that code, you get your
feature. I don't see the waste...
It's not like without this user's new idea, the volunteer would
otherwise fix a critical bug or anything. Almost everyone prioritizes
bugs over features...
I don't quite like how feature requests often get labeled as "that's
some waste of time", "that's so lame", and so on...
I feel it would be nice not to provide this kind of feedback to people
who use the software and want more out of it...
