bug #129910 tty[1-6] are active but display nothing in Gutsy

The problem is that I am affected by this bug (or at least a very
similar one in symptoms), but have no vga= in /boot/grub/menu.lst on
kernel lines.

Also, modprobe of the suggested modules does not help at all for me.
So I will stop making my bug a duplicate of bug #129910.

I can understand that the answer you get is simply remove vga= from
startup kernel command line. Many people wrongly think that this
reflect the resolution of the  screen in X, but AFAIK only change
splash screen, and now I realise TTY screens.
Indeed, this make it an easy workaround, and I would use it if not for
the fact that I am already using it with no success. :-)
