Sure.

Well, it is returned in GNOME Shell. But I don't see it working on
other DE. I tried to compile IBus git yesterday (as multiple commits
happened after 1.5.2) but it failed at some Vala stuff.

IBus is always buggy, you know. Some Arch user find 1.5.2 unusable in
Firefox and IBus upstream say they cannot reproduce in Fedora. God
knows why.
