What I'm suggesting is that a discussion about the help wiki should
preferably be held with a disclosed (in advance) idea of the desired
direction as a base. Letting the attendants know (in advance) about the
specifics where differences of opinion may be an obstacle would probably
be a good idea as well.

I fail to see why or how those ideas would be discouraging.

Please consider how many of the persons, who intend to attend the
meeting next Thursday, are aware of which those suggestions are.

Strengthening the leadership would be good for many reasons.

Possibly. So how about inviting somebody outside the team to
chair/moderate such a session? Somehow you seem to have assumed that I'm
opposed to that. I'm not.
