Interesting that when I add more Linux 'operating systems' to the graph [1] a pattern emerges which might not align with your assertion. Even when I add Windows and OS X to the graph [2] I tend to draw a different conclusion. When you add Android and iOS to the graph [3] it becomes a little more clear what might be happening. It is difficult to use one measure of a statistic isolated from context and draw meaningful conclusions. In general I see a decline in desktop OSes and an increase in Android.
