Canonical’s IPRights Policy incompatible with Ubuntu licence policy

Rohan,

If there are specific instances where this policy has caused problems to
you or anyone else in the community, you can take that instance itself
to Canonical and ask them for a resolution. They may not be able to
resolve it to your satisfaction, but they should at least make a good
faith attempt to do so. Canonical as a company cares deeply about the
community and free/open software, nobody there wants to see harm done to
either.

If you do this and you believe that one or more people in Canonical was
not acting in good faith, then by all means bring that to the CC,
because that is something that is within our authority to address.
