To the Ubuntu Community Council and Community list, from the Kubuntu Council:

We've been asked to meet with you. In order to make this a productive
session, we say:

1. We believe it is important for Ubuntu to have a KDE flavor, and
important for KDE to have an Ubuntu distribution. Therefore if Kubuntu
can continue, we should all do what we can to further that.

2. Going over the history of the situation will just raise emotion,
rather than engage our creativity. Emotion is a strength, as it fuels
our motivation to keep on working. However emotion has no place in
laying plans for the future. If each of us is invested in defending
our positions and past actions, we will not move forward.

3. The article about Jonathan should be removed from the Fridge, since
this is written entirely from the point of view of the UCC. It is a
publicity disaster for the Ubuntu community and remains a barrier to
good communication. Taking it down is a sign of good faith and the
beginning of progress.

Can we agree that we have been at odds, but still have common
interests, and work together to further those interests?

Valorie, for the Kubuntu Council
