No, they are optional and most instructors don't use them.

No need for review by us, but a lot of people prepare it beforehand so
they can just paste it into channel (slowly so people can read it and
ask questions, line by line) during their session and they don't
forget anything. It's up to you.

I might suggest that since your class is scope is so large, that you
write up some of it to see how much you think you can get through in
an hour. Regarding length, you can look at session logs for past
sessions to get a feel for how much will typically fit into an hour:

Finally, if you think your class will be over an hour, you're more
than welcome to postpone certain sections of your class until a later
date, since Classroom is open all the time we can give you a time slot
the following week or when ever is good for you :)
