[Ubuntu-ch] Helfer gesucht: LinuxDays von TheAlternative in ETH Zuerich

For anyone still interested in it, I've translated my mail to an English version below:


Hey Ubuntu Community!

I'm a member of TheAlternative, part of a commission of the VSETH. We organize
the LinuxDays once per Semester, during which students from all over Zurich can
come to our courses to learn about Linux and make first experiences with the
operating system. Apart from introductory courses about the shell and other
topics associated with Linux, we provide the Install-Events where students can
bring their laptops and install Linux with our help. The two distributions we
officially support are Ubuntu and openSUSE, however, we always encourage
students to install a distribution they picked on their own, if they have
already decided on a particular one.

For the Install-Events, we always need quite a bit of helpers that are somewhat
experienced with Linux and can help newcomers to install their first Linux. I
thought that maybe I could find some people interested in that on this mailing
list. As a compensation, we organize a meal to which all helpers are invited
(and there's food at the events themselves, of course).  Part of the "payment"
is also just having fun with installing Linux and helping people. The
Install-Events are on the 10th and 13th October and take from 17:00
- 20:00 each. The location is the main building (HG) of the ETH (Rämistrasse
  101, Zürich).

Apart from helpers, we'd also be very glad if anyone has some hardware that you
could lend to us. We're mostly looking for USB hubs, keyboards, mice,
USB-to-LAN-adapters and USB-C-to-USB-adapters.

short message to me or to look at thealternative.ch, so we can put you on our
helpers list.

Hello Nils,

It is unfortunate that you wrote your message in German only - since we are a multi-cultural country with 4 spoken languages + English widely spoken and understood...

As for myself, I wish I could have been able to read and understand what you wrote because it pertains to our interests and activities.

FYI, this newsletter mostly uses English for communication, as this is being understood by most and also easier than having to translate messages into another national language.

If anyone would be willing to translate this message in English or French, I would be very glad to be able to read it and understand it's content.

Helfen und am Installieren. Die Installevents sind am 10. und am 13. Oktober,
und gehen beide von 17:00 - 20:00. Beide finden im Hauptgebäude (HG) der ETH
statt (Rämistrasse 101, Zürich).
