I can agree with that. From my personal perspective, I think we had more
"known" than "new" faces at the party.

Vive le fédéralisme! :-)
Of course you are right - meeting at two places in two different "base
laguages" is a good idea. Although - as you wrote - as it comes with
federalism, we risk to do the same work twice at twice the price of
time, (wo)manpower and other ressources. We'll have to coordinate our
efforts well.

I wouldn't mind a separate SwissTeam get-together and people interested
in it.

Agreed. And we defnintely should do more advertising. And then a bit
more, et encore un peu.

What if we tried the thing with a "joint venture" approach?

For instance with User groups at Universities? I'm sure that the EPF has
a Linux User group, and I know for sure that there is a group at zhdk.ch
(Zurich University of the Arts) who even run an official Ubuntu mirror.

This could help us with the facilites (rooms, network access etc), which
might help reducing our own hardware efforts, and also attracting a
larger base of potential users.

I think we need to grow somewhat - and we should do so by coordination
and cooperation, not by trying to superimpose us because of our
"official LoCo Team" status. In that light, I now see my harsh criticism
of the "ubuntu swiss remix CD" with some remorse and I'd like to offer
my apologies to /ch/open and say: Thank you very much!

And then there's company like Puzzle ITC who just open their doors when
you first knock at them. Wow! Thank you! Is that cool, or what?

best regards

Marc
