Hi all,

Saturday's meeting was very friendly and I will thank all organizers
(Swiss Team and Puzzle). The relative low audience should make us
think ... Although it was pleasant to meet geographically distant
friends.

Maybe is it time to ask ourselves what purposes such a meeting aimes.
If it's to meet each-other (SwissTeam Meeting) it could (should) be
lighter... I was a littlebit embarrassed by the efforts made by Puzzle
compared to the "poor" audience).

Switzerland is a multilingual country and that's a serious drawback.
Imho if we want to diffuse widely Ubuntu, it is absolutely necessary to
meet people in their mother tongue. Otherwise, we will continue behind
closed doors (can also be funny).

For Hardy's release (8.04), it could be nice to open the doors and meet
a wider audience. Imho that means organizing (at least) two different
events: one in the German- and one in the French-speaking-parts (eg in
Zurich and Lausanne).

Many current and potential users lack proficiency in English (I
personally attests). I don't want an Ubuntu SwissTeam destined to an
elite using (and playing) with the English language.

If we really want to progress diffusing Ubuntu, we need to really go to
people placing ourselves at their level ... Then we can help them
better use Ubuntu and, consequently, to make it known more widely.

Of course, this means organizing two events instead of one. But I'm
sure that the Ubuntu SwissTeam can find the resources needed (this may
also be an opportunity to find new locally active members).

OK, that's what I wanted to say.

I want repeat the pleasure I had to meet everyone and I thank all those
who have made great efforts to give us this event.

Greets,

Pierre

P.S. Ubuntu SwissTeam's home page should also be improved to
accommodate people who do not understand English well. Imho each
visitor should find the key information in their own language. English
obviously still remains for the Team management.
I can help for the french part...
