Thanks for all of your feedback.
I decided to go with VirtualBox inside Windows 8.1 as a way to stay in touch with Ubuntu.
Relating to this...
Anyone has any insight into access shared folder from Windows to Ubuntu?
* I have setup the share folders the way many websites have recommended.
* However, inside Ubuntu, I can't access it, unless I use Root password.
