An admirable request, but I would not hold your breath. Mailing list
subscribers in more recent times seem to have forgotten that what they
type gets stored in archives as possible solutions for those who search
the web later on. In my experience, more effort was made in the past to
format mailing list emails so that they were generally tidy and well
edited to exclude irrelevant text/content. This makes it easier for
those who are searching for, and reading, solutions later on.
Nowadays most posters to mailing lists don't bother to 'trim the fat',
and haphazard mixtures of top and bottom quoting are the norm. Well,
you know that old saying:
Garbage In, Garbage Out
