For simply playing 3gp on a computer, vlc (videolan.org, apt-get install
vlc) will also do the trick.  Alfred's luck with his phone will depend
highly on what kind of phone it is.

I checked out bitpim, My Phone is a Mot V551 not quite on the list yet,
and might never be! VLC was already installed, but Quicktime plugins
not!  So I installed these yesterday, along with Metibuntu extras.
Have not tested things out yet, but thanks for the tips!
