I have a mixture of Ubuntu and Fedora on my desktops at my
home-office. My main destkop is F8, and am running
thunderbird-2.0.0.12-1.fc8
There were a number of updates between .12 and .14 which you have and
I don't yet have, one of which specifically talks about possible memory
leaks

I haven't noticed the problems you mention with Thunderbird, but have
found Firefox to be far less stable in recent months than in the past --
right around the move from .12 to .13 and then .14.
Currently running: firefox-2.0.0.14-1.fc8
