Laptop Screen Brightness

Is it only dim when your running off battery? if so check the On Battery
Power tab, in System->Preferences->Power Management . And see if Reduce
back light brightness is checked off.

If that doesn't work, check if you have a laptop function key. ie on my
girl friends laptop there is a blue function key. and there are blue
function icons on the keyboard. by using the function key and hitting
the lcd brightness you can change it. check your notebook manual if your
not sure
