Again everything is modular. If all YOU need is php then that's all you
get. However most CMS systems require additional PHP libraries and
modules that aren't part of the core language. So you need to add those
manually as you require them. Personally I prefer to just install the
more common ones and not have to deal with it again. For example
php-mcrypt installs the mcrypt php module. What is mcrypt? dunno.
Something to do with encrypting and decrypting data. php-curl allows
you to call curl in PHP as a function. php-sqlite is a module that
allows connectivity to sqlite DBs from PHP. So you don't necessarily
NEED them all but the ones I asked you to install will avoid hassle in
the future.
