Very cool!
Seems every year I plan on leaving Victoria before SFD and every year
it doesn't happen. Well, this year I had a bit of an accidental SFD. A
local computer club in town (Windows-based mostly) had organized a
mall visit for the 16th and 17th, without knowing what SFD was. As
they invited the local lug along, I decided to help out at the last
minute. However, we did have about 50 cds on hand, plus a great deal
of pamphlets. All in all it went well, lots of pamphlets handed out
(about 150) and about 35 cds. Lots of people in the mall didn't have a
computer, which is sad for a developed country like ours. Got some
unexpected people who already knew or ran Linux and one person in a
local store who ran Ubuntu. Did some guerrilla
placements of cds and pamphlets at the local computer stores as well.
Looking forward to next year,
Corey
