I don't go to a University I am at College and we have a mixed network.
For most workstations they run Windows XP Pro
For the Design workstations they are running Mac OS X (I don't know if
it is powerpc or intel)
For the developers workstations (what i am manly using) there are Linux
Workstation (Red Hat WS) and Windows XP Pro (but all windows computers
are dual booted for Debian).
But this is all back by Linux Servers running Red Hat ES 3-4 and one
Windows 2003 Server for Active Directory.
