I am hoping that this might do the trick:
I went into BIOS , via <CTL> ALT ESC, BIOS Setup Utility , Then: Boot: 
original settings: Hard Drive..... 1. Bootable ISA cards    2.Samsung 
SP0802N > 1. Samsung  2. Bootable
Now I am going to try the loading of the Xubuntu...
