Questions -- or just irritations?

These mostly sound more like KDE/Kubuntu bugs than anything else - see
some of my comments below.

1) Using the Kubuntu tools (adept and adept_updater), I really like the

Gnome's system updater has a display for the changelog, and also a
panel for a one-liner in (hopefully) English, not Linux Geek, about
why something is being updated. Does KDE's updater not have this extra
panel?

2) When doing an update on one system, clicking "apply updates" does

Again, this seems more like a KDE bug - I don't think I've ever seen
Gnome's updater 'freeze' like this.

Unless this was a dist-upgrade and not a regular update?

3) I really wish some genuine effort went into the default menu design.

Sounds like KDE needs what Gnome got during the Dapper dev cycle - a
major revamp of the 'accessory/misc' parts of the menu.

I gather that Mandrivia is KDE-only; it sounds like the Kubuntu folks
should borrow a few ideas from them. Until then, switching DEs to
Gnome might well fix all these irritations...
