[Ubuntu-BR] Problemas com scanner da SCX-4623F

Hello people,

É o seguinte: tenho uma multifuncional que funfava bem com o Ubuntu 10.10.
Era só instalar o driver da Samsumg e pimba.
Aí atualizei o sistema para 11.04 e depois para  11.10 (instalação limpa).
Como viajei não testei essas versões.
Atualizei o sistema para 12.04. Tentei fazer o scanner funfar e nada.
Tentei instalar o driver da Samsung, mas ele tá bugado - pesquisei na
internet e vi vários posts dizendo que ele não instala na 12.04.

Fiz lsusb, cuja saída é:
Bus 003 Device 004: ID 04e8:3434 Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd

Ou seja, reconheceu o dispositivo como um scanner

Fiz sane-find-scanner:
  # sane-find-scanner will now attempt to detect your scanner. If the

  # scanner is powered up and properly connected to your computer.

Ou seja, encontrou o dispositivo como um scanner. Não sei da necessidade de
um driver SCSI para o scanner funfar.

Segui o que ele sugere e então fiz scanimage, mas...

No scanners were identified. If you were expecting something different,
check that the scanner is plugged in, turned on and detected by the
sane-find-scanner tool (if appropriate). Please read the documentation
which came with this software (README, FAQ, manpages).

Ou seja, não reconhece. Tanto que quando abro o simple scan, também este
não reconhece. Como disse, funfafa na série 10.x

Andei pesquisando na net e realmente aparece que o driver xerox_mfp deve
estar carregado.

Fiz lsmod | grep xerox

E não retorna nada.

Como testei várias vezes, uma vez somente apareceu assim no scanimage -L

device `xerox_mfp:libusb:003:004' is a Samsung Samsung SCX-4623 Series
multi-function peripheral

Alguém pode me dar uma luz para colocar esse scanner pra funfar?

PS.: antes que alguém questione, a impressão está OK.
