Como seu sistema é 64 bits, tem algumas ressalvas:

1º - instale o repositorio do mediubuntu e suas respectivas keys conforme
descrito no tutorial (pré-requisitos):
sudo wget --output-document=/etc/apt/sources.list.d/medibuntu.list

apt-get --quiet update && sudo apt-get --yes --quiet
--allow-unauthenticated install medibuntu-keyring && sudo apt-get --quiet

apt-get --quiet update && sudo apt-get --yes --quiet
--allow-unauthenticated install medibuntu-keyring && sudo apt-get --quiet
update
sudo wget --output-document=/etc/apt/sources.list.d/medibuntu.list
http://www.medibuntu.org/sources.list.d/$(lsb_release -cs).list && sudo
apt-get --quiet update && sudo apt-get --yes --quiet
--allow-unauthenticated install medibuntu-keyring && sudo apt-get --quiet

sudo wget --output-document=/etc/apt/sources.list.d/medibuntu.list

2º - habilite os repositórios "partner" no seu ubuntu 11.10, indo em
"Canais de Software", na aba "Outro software" e habilite os dois box
escritos "Parceiros da Canonical"; vá ao terminal e digite:

sudo apt-get update

3º- instale o plugin flash para o 64 bits:

sudo apt-get install adobe-flashplugin


4º - instale nesta ordem: a solução nº 3 e depois a solução nº 2

Justificativa:
No Ubuntu 11.10 é possivel usar aplicativos i386 normalmente com o 64 bits.
Se for seguido a risca o tutorial, voce verá uma infinidade de aplicativos
i386 sendo instalados em seu sistema por conta do flashplugin-installer.
Funciona do jeito exposto lá? Sim. Mas para quem quer uma coisa mais
"clean", eu sugiro usar estes passos.
