Hi everybody,
like I say during the last meeting I send you an email to explain in detail
the event I would like to organise and I think I can say "I gonna" organise
:)".
For the release of the 10.04 I have my school to organise a special Ubuntu
day for everyone, Ubuntu User or Non Ubuntu User.
My school is in Ecaussinnes who is near a lot of big city (La Louvière,
Mons, Charleroi, not too far from Bruxelles).
I have some local with projector for conference and also a special local to
make a GNU lan party. A lan party with Ubuntu and free game. ( I think it's
interesting to show to people that is possible to have fun with Ubuntu and
there is good game that doesn't need a big PC to play).
I think for this Ubuntu day, do 3 o r 4 activities is good for people and to
catch the attention of everybody.
An activity for:
Imaging
Gaming
Internet (a lot of people use just internet but they don't know that google
is everywhere and ubuntu too :), when I install Firefox a lot of people ask
me. Is there google in firefox? ). And using Ubuntu in everyday life.
Conference for advance user too. (If possible)
I think it's a good opportunities to promote LUG too. And Ubuntu-be of
course :).
For the gaming I think do a little live test of some game like the excellent
yo frankie (http://www.yofrankie.org/). And do during all the day an Ubuntu
Lan Party.
I hope this event will be a success and open the door for more big event to
promote Ubuntu.
I think the only matter is to wait the release of the 10.04. Or maybe to
this event few days before can be good to make this event really special for
everyone, like a big preview of Ubuntu 10.04.
I wait your reaction :) .I think is important to discuss about this project
before make it quickly. And also all help for this special day is welcome.
