I hate being the devils' advocate (pun intended) but here goes...

You say you are against religion in software, and yet you use the word
"believe"...
I am against all kinds of narrow minded bigotry, religious bigotry as well
as anti-religious bigotry. Which, honestly, is what you are showing.
Sorry. It's just my opinion, it's nothing personal. No hard feelings?

This project is not about bringing religion into software, it is about
bringing software into religion. It is a wonderful proof of concept to
show how flexible Ubuntu, and Linux in general can be. Just you try to do
this with Evil Windows.

If wanted, anyone could remaster an Ubuntu cd with the most exotic
language and localisation you could imagine. Would you be against that
too?

Likewise, there are (or could be) special-purpose 'buntus: for education,
for computer forensics, for computer first aid, for coffee vending
machines, for anything you could imagine.

So why not have 'buntus for certain demographic groups? What is wrong with
that? Under the hood they are all plain Ubuntus and they all receive the
same security updates from Canonical. They are maintained by the people
who are interested in them, and they don't draw away any resources from
mainstream Ubuntu.
On the contrary, they bring a new audience to Ubuntu, an audience for whom
the installation of extra software is a too steep step. Don't we all agree
that it's much easier for newb users to have pre-installed software? Well
then?

I rest my case for the defense, Your Honour.
