Hi,

most of you know it, we want a new website since the current one got
"released". It as always been an objective but never reached. A lot
has been said on the subjet and the last time it was discussed, we
agreed to use Drupal to build a community website for both regular
Ubuntu-be members and casual visitors looking for information on
Ubuntu and Ubuntu in Belgium. But thing are kinda freezed since this
decisions. I've been trying to define base requirements for the site
to help those knowing or testing Drupal to confirm the choice (see
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BelgianTeam/2008/WebsiteRequirements). The
idea was also to draw a path from where to start for whoever wanted to
take the challenge.

The fact is that, as today, it has not produced many concrete results.
There is still no production-ready website and no one talk about it
since a long time. I don't blame anybody. Nobody is responsible of the
absence of a new website. I just wanted the present what I consider
the current state of the "project".

Anyway, I don't post to complain. Rather I propose to organize a one
day workshop with the simple objective of getting the a new website
up. The idea is the get a small team of motivated people to meet
somewhere (I propose my place) and to work together on it. We will
need one or two Drupal "gurus" to set up a base website with the
needed modules. One or two people to write the initial content
(including rewriting or plain copy/paste of actual content) in one
language (be it english, dutch or french). That for the base site. We
will also need a coder or two to fill the gap between Drupal and the
wanted Support Points Map (which should re-use Drupal members and
features). I can handle JavaScript and PHP development, but I will
need he help of a Drupal expert to quickly get into business without
loosing time learning the API and inner working of the platform. So
with four to six people we should be able to finally get a new
website.

Now, I just need a few positive answers and we need to set a date
(presumably on a Saturday or a Sunday). So who is interested ?
