> - Press releases,

You probably want:
* an easily browsable archive of press releases per language. Mailman can do
that. Let's ask the ubuntu folks for ubuntu-be-nl-pr and ubuntu-be-fr-pr.
* non-public lists of press contacts per language. No extra infrastructure
needed here.
* an rss feed of press releases per language would be nice. Gmane.org can
create rss feeds out of any mailing lists...

- links to the apropriate Ubuntu wiki's forum, planet...,

This should be fairly static content. Different for each language community.
Must not forget to link to http://www.ubuntu.com/support/marketplace/europe.

A map is probably the most user friendly way to present this information to
our users. Different for each language community. Needs custom coding.

Have a look at the first test results of my work:

http://vrijesoftware.be/test/formulier.html <- Could someone translate this
to French? Thx!

Something else we need is a "Ubuntu in the news" section. Again, separate
content per language community would probably be best. I have good
experiences using a wiki for this kind of thing. The official ubuntu wiki is
probably the best place for this.

So, summarising, my thoughts on our technical needs:
* a press releases archive that can preferably spit out rss. ubuntu mailman+
gmane
* a more or less static page with links to related projects. ubuntu or we
ourselves
* a custom made map of Ubuntu supporters. we ourselves
* a wiki where you can archive news about Ubuntu in your community. ubuntu

I don't see a lot of content overlap between the languages... Why make life
difficult by going for multilingual?

Let's start by creating two different static pages using the same
stylesheet. If we can make sure those don't have to change too often, we may
get them hosted by ubuntu.{com, org} itself. That would be a boost to our
credibility. Otherwise, it's trivial to do this ourselves.

Thoughts, anyone?
