[Ubuntu-BD] Problem with wine and yahoo messenger

I installed wine from Ubuntu repo today and then installed yahoo
messenger latest version. But the problem is i can't log into my yahoo
account. When i enter my credential and press login, nothing happens.
What's wrong? I've selected windows XP preference from the settings of
wine. Gtalk seems to suffer the same problem. Is it impossible to use
messenger made for windows in LINUX? And though the question sounds
funny, can i use cedega to run those. If yes, then i'll buy it.
