What's wrong with Gedit? Gedit comes with Ubuntu pre installed and have
almost all the feature of Notepad++.

Wouldn't be it better than 'Installing Wine + Downloading Notepad plus +
Install via Wine' thing?

And the sulotions metioned in your provided link, is 3 yrs older, was valid
for 6.xx series. Wine installation doesn't requires to add extra repos
anymore. Its available from Ubuntu's official repo.

I would like to request that, please read the problem carefully before you
post any solutions. Because, your carelessness may kill or create deadlocks
for newbie Ubuntu users.

Thank you.
