Thanks for your request. I've taken a look at it for you.

In order to backport from 11.04 to 10.04, we'll also need to backport to 10.10,
to support users choosing to upgrade to this release. Thus, I've prepared a
no-change package for maverick-backports too.

For Lucid, the situation is a tiny bit more complicated. The package enabled a
couple of new plugins for Natty which have new build dependency requirements
that cannot be satisfied on Lucid. One option would be to backport these new
build dependencies too, but that would be a significant amount more effort. So
I've prepared a source-change backport which reverts these two plugin
additions. I hope the rest of the package is still helpful for you. The
changelog is

  * Source change backport
  * Revert new plugins which have build dependencies not available in Lucid.
    Reverts the following changes from 4.9.1-1
    - Enabled the "rrdcached" plugin and build-depend on librrd-dev (>= 1.4~)
      (and removed the optional build-dep on librrd2-dev).
    - Enabled the "tokyotyrant" plugin (except on kfreebsd-{i386,amd64}) and
      build-depend on libtokyotyrant-dev (which is not available on kfreebsd).
      Also, build-depend on libtokyocabinet-dev to work around a missing
      dependency in libtokyotyrant-dev (see #566584).

and I've uploaded it to my PPA which you can find at

  https://launchpad.net/~laney/+archive/backports-testing

If you want to help, here's what needs doing now. Each step needs doing for
both Maverick and Lucid.

  - Confirmation that the packages install and run (function correctly)
  - Confirmation that all of the reverse dependencies still work. This seems to
    be only kcollectd.

After these two steps are done for both releases, we can approve the
backport.

Thanks!
