Installation Festival for Brisbane

Good afternoon,

As discussed previously I was thinking about trying to organise an
installation festival this cycle somewhere in Brisbane. The Edge was
discussed as a great place to do so and as such I have been liaising
with them to work out availability and costing.

Today I have been advised that the following dates are still available
in November:

Saturday 5/11      2pm – 8pm
Sunday 6/11      All day

Saturday 12/11    2pm – 8pm
Sunday 13/11    All day

Saturday 19/11    2pm – 8pm
Sunday 20/11    All day

Saturday 26/11    All day
Sunday 27/11    All day

The downside is that there is a fee for using this location. The
community rate is $60 an hour for the use of the room and it would add
on costs if we need to use any of their equipment (computers, laptops,
projectors, etc). So basically what our options are from this point
is:
* we can find people to donate to the cause (we'd probably be looking
at a 3 - 4 hour minimum to make it worth it)
* find a business willing to support the event
* look for another location

I'm happy to look elsewhere but I'm a bit barren of ideas for anywhere
that is going to be as publicly accessible for your average person in
the public whom we are targeting for this sort of event. So basically,
lets start talking and brainstorming ideas. Comments or suggestions
anyone?
