As risk of giving a hijacker what they want, I'll give my personal
opinion this in parts.

Nope, as Gnome Shell or Gnome 2 would still be available in the
repository... if you don't like it switch window manager! Unity might
make sense in the long run but people mostly dislike change.

As for KDE, I'm not going to respond to a question based on a question mark.
