Great input Norm.

Yes legal interests need to be taken into account.
Forming (and running) non-profit organisations takes a lot of work.
We need to be clear on our objectives, on what can and cannot be
achieved.
Yes you always get descent when you bring a group of people together
(the nature of the beast)
I agree formality does kill things but sometimes you need it.

I think that I will shut-up for a while now and observe the
discussions and see where they lead.
