Thanks for that im still trying to get my 3 mobile working on Ubuntu.  
This may do it.  My main problem is being outside a 3g area so i need to 
go to work and test then return home to get anything off the net to try 
again.  If it works i will yell.  Mines a Huawei_E169G.
