Hi all,
I've been running Intrepid for a month now. Before on hardy this was not an issue.
Most of the time I run the notebook with the kill switch off = WLAN on. So when I boot up and log in WLAN work.
Every now and then to save some battery I use the (hardware) killswitch for the WLAN to turn it off.
Turning it off works but when I want to enable it again nothing happens.

Which gives a working solution for me. Unload and reload the kernel module.
$ lspci | grep -i "wireless"
03:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG [Golan] Network Connection (rev 02)
$ sudo rmmod iwl3945
[sudo] password for seb:
$ sudo modprobe iwl3945
My question is, how can I automate this until it is fixed by ubuntu?
As I said, until Intrepid this was working... well it was one off the few things working on my notebook, e.g. the FN keys
don't work 100% so I cant switch between WLAN and bluetooth. Does anyone have an idea?
Thanks,
seb
