Since reloading 6.1 on my computer I haven't been able to bootup Ubuntu. The
programme loaded onto my machine ok, but whenI select Ubuntu from the GRUB menu
it gives the following message:

Kernel panic - not synching :IO - APIC + Timer doesn't work. Boot with
APIC=Debug and send a report. Then try booting with the "noapic" option.

I have included these commands in"Boot Options" but all to no avail. What does
the error message mean?

My computer has an AMD Athlon 64 X2 3200 chip with 3Gb of RAM. The motherboard
is an ECS NFORCE4M-A.

Does anybody know how I might be able to get around this problem? Thank you.

Regards

John France
