msi

hello all
        I'm now running gutsy. I have installed wine. Wine will not open
        the msi file. Ive been trying to run for the last few months. It
        needs a microsoft.net framework
         I downloaded dotnetfx3setup.exe as i think it might run the msi
        file but I cannot seem to get it to run in wine either.  i have
        spent
        considerable time searching for help. Any assistance would be
        apreciated
