I'll chip in another endorsement of the Brother printers. I just bought
a Brother HL-2040 B&W laser from Big W for $99. Replacement toners are
the cheapest of all the cheap laser printers that I could find in our
area. And the best thing about it is seeing references to Linux support
in their manuals.

I ended up with 2 drivers installed in gutsy, when I was manually
setting up the driver it automatically installed one in the background.
Works perfectly well.

We bought it as a replacement to a HP 4255 OfficeJet
Fax/Printer/Phone/Scanner which failed working properly after 13 months
and left a lot to be desired while it was 'functioning'.
